Meet Karen
For more than two decades, Karen Smith has investigated some of the most challenging homicide cases, combining meticulous forensic science with an unwavering commitment to uncovering the truth. A retired major crimes detective, forensic specialist, educator, and author, she has taught forensic investigation at the National Forensic Academy and the University of Florida, consulted on documentaries and podcasts, and continues to research historic crimes through original records and modern investigative methods. Whether reconstructing forgotten cold cases, developing compelling stories, or helping others think like investigators, Karen brings a rare blend of real-world experience, historical insight, and authentic storytelling to every project.
